Description
Welcome to Honeyflow Farm's Beeswax Candle Shop Hand-dipped Tapers Page. Our Beeswax Early American Style Smokeless Tapers are hand made at our farm in Michigan. They are sold in pairs and are made by dipping them 20 - 30 times into hot beeswax. We have been beekeepers for more than 30 years, harvesting honey and beeswax and selling to the local markets. As you can see by the image above our Tapers are hung on a cooling rack during the dipping process - they are not made by machines. We gurantee that just like snowflakes none will be identical. 3 Pairs of 3/4 Inch wide by 6 Inch tall Hand-dipped Beeswax Tapers A Variety Pack of All 3 Sizes of Beeswax Tapers 6 Pairs of 3/4 Inch wide by 6 Inch tall Hand-dipped Beeswax Tapers Add to Cart Add to Cart Add to Cart Customer Reviews 4.8 out of 5 stars 30 4.8 out of 5 stars 30 4.8 out of 5 stars 30 Price $32.95$32.95 $35.00$35.00 $51.95$51.95 About our 6, 9 and 12 Inch Tapers The center image above shows a sampler pack of all 3 sizes of our tapers, a 3/4 x 6inch, a 7/8 x 9 inch and a 7/8 x 12 inch taper. The left and right image shows our 3/4 inch wide tapers. Keep in mind that these are not large dinner size tapers, but our smaller economy size candles. The images below are our standard size (7/8 inch wide) dinner tapers. They come in a 9 inch and a beautiful 12 inch taper. Hand-dipped beeswax tapers are available in 6.5 inch, 9.5 inch & 12 inch lengths. The 6.5 inch tapers are slightly less than 3/4 inch and the 9.5 & 12 inch tapers are closer to 7/8 inch in diameter. The sizes vary slightly since they are hand made. Even the tapers in the same batch varies (we do loads of 30 pair at a time). These tapers burn cleaner, drip and smoke less than any other wax, cleaning and purifying the air as they burn.Beeswax is made from the Nectar of Flowers, burns with a sweet scent and purifies the air. Not polluted with dies or colors. Our Beeswax comes from local Michigan beekeepers - a lot of beeswax sold on line comes from China. We refuse a lot of promotions trying to sell us cheap, polluted non-American wax.Your candles may have "Bloom" on them. This is the powdery looking finish that ONLY BEESWAX CANDLES CAN DEVELOP and will give them an antique look . It will usually appear after a few months in storage and can be wiped off if desired. Invention of the candle dates back to about 400 B.C., but the idea to use beeswax to form candles didn't emerge until the Middle Ages. What is the white, dusty compound on Beeswax Candles: This white film, called bloom, is normal and occurs to all pure beeswax. This is caused because some of the components of the beeswax migrate to the surface. Bloom can be easily removed by wiping the candle with a soft cloth, applying gentle heat with a hair dryer, or placing the candle in warm sunlight. Even though the bloom is easily removable, many people actually desire this effect as it tends to give the beeswax candle a unique and rustic look and feel. 10 Reasons to use Beeswax Candles: Beeswax candles burn cleaner than paraffin candles, producing very little soot.Beeswax candles burn a lot longer than paraffin candles.Beeswax candles contain none of the harmful chemicals sometimes found in paraffin candles. Our beeswax taper candles are virtually dripless in normal draft free conditions. The light emitted by a beeswax candle is much stronger and brighter than that of a paraffin candle.Beeswax candles have a natural aroma and honey scent, no additives needed.Beeswax is a renewable resource!Beeswax candles can be burned around those with allergies or who are sensitive to strong chemical scents.Natural beeswax candles support our beekeepers; our candles are created out of beeswax made in the USA.Beeswax candles do not expire. Beeswax has been found in the pyramids virtually unchanged after 1000s of years. A well-made candle will create virtually no smoke when burning properly. However, if the wick becomes too long, or an air current disturbs the flame's teardrop shape, small amounts of unburned carbon particles (soot) will escape from the flame as a visible wisp of smoke. Any candle will soot if the flame is disturbed. To avoid this, always trim the wick to ¼ inch before every use and be sure to place candles away from drafts, vents or air currents. If a candle continually flickers or smokes, it is not burning properly and should be extinguished. Allow the candle to cool, trim the wick, make sure the area is draft free, then re-light.
